Discussions in the classrooms predominate, as do group projects throughout the year. You are expected to ask a lot of questions and read a lot of extra materials to reach your full potential! Opportunities for various company visits and events related to your chosen field of realization are constantly being created. For bachelor’s programs you can apply for two admissions during the year.
- The school year, which begins at the end of August, has two intakes. The deadline for the first intake is January. The second is in April. Some universities have an extended deadline.
- The school year starting from mid-January – the submission of documents is from June to August. The second round has a deadline in October. Note that undergraduate programs that begin in the winter are so few that they are counted on the fingers of one hand. For 2022, they are exactly two!
The Bachelor’s degrees in Sweden and in the other Scandinavian countries are radically different from those offered at Bulgarian universities. The practical knowledge you will gain during your education can be crucial after graduation, when you start looking for work in your sphere. There is a strong emphasis on group work and the application of the theory acquired during the lectures. This is up-to-date information, not dry theory, from 30 years ago. The universities are very well equipped, and most of them provide their students with 24-hour access to the buildings of the university.
In addition, the global partnerships between higher education institutions, the industry, the public research institutes provide training and research in Sweden, reflecting the latest knowledge and meeting the needs of the global labor market. Very often, companies that offer internships subsequently hire their interns, when satisfied with them during their internship. This is a wonderful opportunity for a flying start for any graduating student. It is very important to choose well the companies where you want to spend your internship. It is compulsory to have an internship during your bachelor’s degree in Sweden.
If you are wondering whether you will be able to work in Sweden while you are a student here, then the answer is YES! Whether you have a bachelor’s or a master’s degree, you are not subject to any restrictions in terms of working hours during the school year (or during the holidays) if you come from an EU country. Of course, we do not recommend that you spend more than 10-12 hours a week, which will also give you the opportunity to receive a scholarship, which is another huge plus of the education in Sweden. Salaries in the country are one of the highest not only in Europe but also worldwide, which will help you cover your own expenses while studying in Sweden.
Among the high demand bachelor’s programs in Sweden are the art and design majors, programming, international relations, tourism, marketing, business administration and economics. Most often, students head to the capital Stockholm, as the largest city in the country with the biggest opportunities to find work. However, we must say that finding accommodation (room, apartment), whether in a dormitory or not, is the most difficult there. Our advice is to avoid Stockholm from the very beginning! However, if the desired specialty is offered only there, then it is important to start looking for an accommodation as early as possible! No matter whether you choose to study in the capital or in a smaller city, it is a huge mistake not to think about your accommodation while you are preparing to apply! Like other countries (such as the Netherlands), the accommodation problem here should not be underestimated. If you take the time to check the prices for the accommodation in the hotels / hostels in Sweden, you will see for yourself that we are stressing on the accommodation for a reason! It’s never early to register for it!
Of course, other programs such as social sciences, varieties of medicine, chemistry and biochemistry, biotechnology, mathematics are also popular along with so many other. The possibilities are endless. However, it is important to know that the competition and requirements are high – there is no shortage of students who would like to receive a high quality education completely free of charge in Sweden, while absorbing the Swedish culture and lifestyle! Do your best for those impossible A+ at school! Grades here are crucial for a large number of the specialties – you need every plus! Of course, we will also help you achieve optimal results, regardless of your success scores in school! However, in no case should you give up applying in Sweden, even if your success is not excellent! Only those who do not try do not have a chance to be accepted and their dreams and plans never come true! Don’t afford this luxury.
If you succeed in your student campaign, then you have certainly given 100% of yourself and everything that awaits you in your chosen city and university will be one of your greatest achievements so far! Keep going forward!
