I am accepted! Now what?
After the overwhelming euphoria once we get admitted to a Swedish university, next are some more difficult questions to answer: Where will I live and how to get to Sweden?
You can reach Sweden by car or plane. Traveling by plane is exactly what we would do. Especially if you are to go further north. Of course, you will not be the first if you prefer a family trip and go by car – this is a great opportunity to explore many European cities on your way to Stockholm, for example.
Plane tickets
You probably know that the closer the date of your departure is, the more expensive your plane tickets will be. It is best to start looking for tickets a few months in advance. It is also important at what time of the week you book your tickets, for example on weekends usually the prices are higher. Plane ticket prices to Sweden also vary, depending on where you travel from. There are often flights to Stockholm or Gothenburg. With our help you will not only buy the cheapest and most convenient tickets to your final destination in Sweden, but we will do everything possible to ensure that your entire trip is tailored to receive your keys from your student housing.
Discounts / Ticket promotions
It is advisable to check low cost airlines that offer plane tickets at lower prices. It is important to know where to look for information on plane ticket promotions and sales. You can follow their offers and websites, as well as subscribe to their newsletters to receive information about their discounts on time. If you travel regularly with the same airline, you can become a club member and receive even more discounts.

Transport system
After landing at Stockholm or Malmö Airport, for example, you will have to travel by intercity and public transport to reach your final destination. This usually involves the purchase of a ticket (coupon) for a train and / or bus, and this is possible either from the tourist information centers or through mobile applications designed for this purpose. We will help you organize this trip to make sure nothing goes wrong.
Luggage
Due to international security rules, there are items that you are not allowed to carry in your hand luggage (on board), but you are only allowed to carry in checked-in baggage. The rules for the various items you are not allowed to carry with you may vary depending on the airline. If your luggage does not comply with the rules of transportation, some or all of your luggage may need to be removed at the airport.
Weight and size of luggage
As you probably already know, the conditions for the size and weight of luggage are different for each airline. Apart from hand luggage and checked baggage, the rules also differ for special baggage and excess baggage. Of course, the fees are also different for each airline. It is important to be informed about the rules for your luggage before going to the airport – excess baggage fees can be quite high.
A few months before your departure, we will inform you when to start looking for tickets, from which airlines you can buy cheap tickets and other important information about your departure.

Which things you are NOT allowed to transport?
For example, you cannot carry knives, scissors, razors and other sharp objects in your hand luggage, there is a quantity limit for cosmetics, medicines and cosmetic products. Liquid foods, jars and drinks over 100 ml are also not allowed, as well as other things that can be a security issue.
Can pets be transported on board?
If your pet will travel with you, you must make a request for transportation when booking tickets. The animal must be transported in a special cage as a passenger luggage in the cabin of the aircraft or in the luggage compartment. The fee for a pet depends on its weight, measured together with the cage. Do not forget to take the necessary documents of the animal – passport, booklet with vaccines and certificates from a veterinarian. DO NOT buy a separate ticket for your pet!

Ticket discounts in Sweden
To save on the cost of train or bus tickets, which sometimes exceed 50 EURO, we recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance from the relevant sites. The disadvantage here is that there is no way to cancel the purchased tickets in case you missed your transport connection or subsequently decided to change your plans for the day. So to make sure you can handle it, plan at least 2 hours to get out of the airport where you will arrive in Sweden.
As a student in Sweden, you will be able to use the student discounts for transport, but for this you will need your new Swedish documents, which you will receive after you start your studies at the university.
Do not worry! We will help you organize your entire trip from your country to the door of your accommodation in Sweden at the best price!

First plane trip
For your peace of mind, it is recommended that you be at the airport at least 2 hours before the time of your flight. Even an unforeseen situation can lead to a delay in checking luggage, the checkings you need to go through, and finding the gate from which your plane will take off.
Security checkings
Your suitcase must be checked in and your hand luggage must go through a special scanner to be checked for prohibited items. You will also have to go through such a check. If all is well you are heading to the next stage of the flight, which is passport control. When boarding the plane, it is advisable to be quick in finding your seat, so as not to create unnecessary chaos and delays on board.
This, of course, is only part of the whole journey. Even if you are not flying for the first time, we will still give you the necessary information, many more tips for the whole trip, as well as help you choose tickets from the best and low-cost airlines!
